What is FAMILY LIFE EDUCATION?

The goal of a Family Life Educator is to help create healthy families. They do this by educating individuals and families about issues and teaching skills to prevent or minimize problems. Through workshops, presentations, and classes, Family Life Educators teach how to have healthier families by teaching skills such as communication, making wise decisions, and developing strong relationships. Problems that family life educators may teach about are substance abuse, domestic violence, unemployment, debt, and child abuse.

Family Life Educators are licensed through the National Council on Family Relations and must have at minimum a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university. A full license is given once an educator completes the required work experience and can demonstrate with their knowledge their ability to be a
Family Life Educator.
